4 a.m.

Upon arriving home at 4 a.m. in the morning due to a visit to the ER with my Aunt and Grandmother I crashed as soon as I fell into my little bed. Before crashing though I drove my Aunt and Grandmother home from the hospital that night, thankfully they were alright and will be alright, but in driving them home I noticed not many cars out at the 4 a.m. hour...it wasn't until my drive home alone did I see just how beautiful the small town where I live really is as it was bathed in the warm yellow glow of street lamps. Big city night lights have always attracted my attention there is something about looking upon the glow of city life whether it is small or big. It wasn't until this 4 a.m. hour did I appreciate where it is that I come from...I've always been thankful for my raising but the town itself I never really gave it much thought to me it was just the place where I was born and so I go about life without really seeing "my" town. This site is about loving our body flawz and we should but I want to say that we should love the flawz that we believe our town my have...for me that flaw is that I've always felt Jasper has a lack of culture, events, its size, etc. While driving home though I thought about the good that comes out of those lack there of things...in feeling we have a lack of culture there is an abundance of southern roots within each family. Many would say isn't that culture not necessarily...for me southern roots means that you know where home is and where you belong. I feel that many today are wondering and never really feeling they belong. With the lack of many events in Jasper families have a chance to bond with each other...normally this is over the kitchen table while dinner is taking place or on summer camp trips, family b-ques, etc. The best part about a small town is that no matter where you go you always see a familiar place and everyone is willing to help you out. So my little town has flawz and a lack of flawz :) depending on how you look at it...I'm very grateful for the drive at 4 a.m.

I live in a small town too. A lot of people don't like it because it's like Payton Place so to speak. Home is where the heart is, and this is my home for the time being. Have a great weekendsmilies/smiley.gif
